At Stoneybrook Home Daycare, I believe in a holistic approach to childcare, focusing on each child's physical, emotional, and cognitive development by working with parents and children individually every day.

Small Ratios

With a maximum group of 5 children in my daycare on any given day, this ratio allows me to give each child individual attention. I am able to easily observe and support each child’s unique development, interests, and personality.

Children are offered nutritious snacks and meals each day that support their growth, energy, and overall well-being.

I focus on whole, wholesome foods and aim to introduce a variety of flavours and textures to help children develop positive eating habits early on. I follow the baby-led weaning method.

Whenever possible, I accommodate dietary needs and preferences, ensuring every child feels included, comfortable, and well cared for. You are welcome to send your child with their own food, however, we are nut-free.

My daycare is designed to feel like a second home: comfortable, welcoming, and safe.

A home environment encourages natural routines, gentle learning, and meaningful connections throughout the day.

This setting also allows for a balance of structured activities and free play, giving children the freedom to explore, imagine, and learn in a way that feels natural to them.

Each day includes opportunities for creative, hands-on activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

Through activities like art, music, storytelling, and imaginative play, children build important skills such as problem-solving, communication, and cooperation—all while having fun.

I gently guide and extend their learning based on their interests, helping them gain confidence and curiosity that will support them as they grow and transition into school.

*We work daily on potty training, and most notably, independence with outdoor clothing.

Growth in a Heartfelt Home Environment

Our play-based home fosters a love for learning and exploration; We are not afraid to get messy and think of paint on our clothes or dirt under our nails as signs of a wonderful day.

I strongly believe in nature integration and we spend a lot of time outside! We have a large garden space where we grow many types of fresh food including beans, raspberries, tomatoes, greens, and more. This spring we will be replanting a full pollinator garden to attract all kinds of butterflies, hummingbirds, and bumblebees.

Toddlers in my home engage in fun and educational activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development. I provide a safe and stimulating environment for their exploration and learning, complete with many Montessori style toys and safe items to help develop fine motor skills.

I believe in the power of music for teaching and we sing educational songs together every day. We also use baby sign language to help with early communication.

Preschool aged children participate in age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. I help prepare them for the next stage of their educational journey by practicing independence in putting on their own outdoor clothing, shoes, and even help to toilet train.

With tons of outdoor play in our fenced yard and in the nearby forest, children learn how to navigate their bodies and the world around them in a safe environment.

"My son has been with Andrea since he was 9 months old and I have never once had a doubt dropping him off. It's a good feeling when you know your son is with someone who makes him feel happy and safe in a home away from home. Andrea is very accommodating to his needs and my son is always a happy boy when I pick him up. I couldn't ask for a better daycare provider!"
