Meet Miss Andrea
Welcome to Stoneybrook Home Daycare, a warm and welcoming space designed to feel like a home away from home. I’m Miss Andrea, the owner and caregiver.

As a mother of two and a long-time caregiver, I bring both personal and professional experience to the children in my care. I have over a decade of experience in caring for young children.
Â
Over the years, I’ve also had the privilege of working with some children who have ADHD, Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Epilepsy, and speech or motor delays.

I aim to be flexible, caring, and fun - meeting each child where they are and supporting them as they grow. I truly grow so fond of the children in my care and take great delight in each developmental leap they make during their time with us.

My ultimate goal is to create a space where children feel safe, loved, and accepted, and where parents feel supported. Whenever I can, I share my knowledge and experience to help families at home too, partnering with you to make your child’s days consistent, joyful, and full of learning.
✨ What Makes Our Daycare Different? ✨
I believe that early childhood is the most critical window for brain development. That is why our home daycare goes beyond basic supervision to offer an intentional, education-first environment.
My Ongoing Professional Credentials and Certifications Include:
Early Childhood Milestone Tracking: Certified through the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) "Watch Me!" program to monitor and support your child's physical and cognitive growth milestones.Â
Advanced Early Literacy & Active Read-Alouds:Â I use certified CCEI techniques to turn daily storytime into an active language lesson by teaching toddlers how to predict storylines and track text from left to right.
Music & Movement Brain-Building Curriculum: We integrate The Learning Groove curriculum, using interactive instrument play and steady-beat activities to wire the brain for early math, speech, and motor skills.
Foundational Science of Reading: I utilize Reading Rockets techniques to jumpstart vocabulary and phonetic awareness through fun oral rhyming games and call-and-response vocal play.
Cleanliness:Â IÂ maintain a highly professional, health-conscious environment certified by the CDC's 'Clean Hands and Spaces' safety standards to keep our babies healthy and minimize daycare sickness.
Preventing Adverse Childhood Experiences:Â My daycare uses a trauma-informed, positive-guidance framework certified by the CDC to help children build strong social-emotional resilience from birth.
Early Infant Communication & Baby Sign Language:Â I integrate certified infant sign language strategies into our daily care to reduce toddler frustration, bridge the gap before speech develops, and accelerate early vocabulary acquisition.
Licensing:Â I am an unlicensed caregiver and do not run any one specific "program". As such, I am always working on my own professional development to ensure children thrive in my care. I maintain updated vulnerable sector checks and CPR certification.
